Our funky little brew-pub that started the craft-beer-in-a-can craze ten years ago by stuffing our huge, voluminously hopped mutha of a pale ale in a can (Dale’s Pale Ale) has grown to the 2nd largest craft brewery in coloRADo. Cans keep beer fresher, longer by eliminating the damaging effects of light and lessening ingressed oxygen while being infinitely recyclable and portable…taking them where your next soul saving adventure takes you.
Oskar Blues vertically integrates its brewery and restaurants through their Hops and Heifers Farm. The Farm, located on the north side of Haystack Mountain in Longmont, Colorado, converts brewery outflows to restaurant inflows. Spent grain or “mash” from the brewery is rationed to Black Angus Cattle & Berkshire Pigs as a high protein supplement to complement their grass fed diet. The livestock then provide compost that improves soil quality in the farm’s garden and hopyard. The farm raised hops are used in small batch specialty brews and paired with farm raised beef creations. The livestock and naturally raised products from the farm garden find themselves at the restaurant table, providing the community with a true Farm to Table experience.
